The Manager, Software Engineering manages the analysis, design, programming, debugging, modification, and delivery of software for commercial and end user applications. The Manager builds relationships and provides services to meet the needs of clients and takes responsibility for improving processes that are negatively affecting customer satisfaction. The Manager analyzes trends in technology and assesses the impact they have on the business providing solutions to address technology and business issues. 

This position has corporate functional leadership obligations and is responsible for supervising hiring, career development, and day-to-day team and project management. The Manager will also be required to carry out other duties, projects, or activities as specified by their management.  

This Manager will be managing team of engineers, including software engineers, quality engineers and performance engineer dedicated to ePro, a Provider solution product.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study or the equivalent in documented work experience  
  • 8+ years of relevant technical and business experience in IT systems development management in a technology and/or health care environment 
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams and products in an Agile environment 
  • 5+ year of hands-on experience in software development and databases (.NET, Oracle or SQL Server or equivalent Database)
  • 1+ years of experience working in AWS or any cloud environment (Cloud Certification is a plus)
  • Cloud migration experience is a plus
  • Project forecasting experience is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of the health care industry is a plus
  • Ability to establish and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external clients/vendors 
  • Proven understanding of the software development life cycle 
  • Proven understanding of web development methodologies, application design, navigation, and information architecture 
  • Proven understanding of data modeling, relational databases, data structures and design 
  • Ability to launch and deliver multiple, concurrent IT projects on time and within budget 

What you will be doing: 

  • Providing technical leadership and direction to the team and stakeholders.
  • Leading overall delivery responsibilities and proactively working to reduce roadblocks the teams may encounter.
  • Accountable for leading the development, deployment and maintenance of software applications.
  • Guiding, coaching and motivating engineers, and help develop their skills.
  • Monitoring and maintaining compliance with quality standards.
  • Contribute to product strategy and roadmap creation.
  • Gain the trust of stakeholders and support business goals.
  • Define, plan, measure, and improve software processes.
  • Lead daily stand ups.
  • Following and promoting Agile practices across multiple teams.
  • Ensuring that the teams participate in daily stand ups, are conducting retrospectives, code reviews, etc.
  • Defining and tracking team metrics.     
  • Determining the percentage of each team’s time dedicated to new development, maintenance, etc.,
  • Monitoring efforts to eliminate duplicate design and promote solutions that reduce or eliminate technical debt.
  • Analyzing trends in technology and assessing the impact of how the emerging technologies may impact product delivery.
