As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Securitized Product Group team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting independently
- Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language
- Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, resilient, scalable, stable code and systems
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- 12+ years hands-on experience using Java 17 or higher, Spring Boot and PL SQL
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Must have solid understanding of Micro Service design pattern, development & deployment experience on a cloud platform
- Proficient in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Exposure to AWS or any other public cloud
- Proficient in agile software methodologies, CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies like React
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Have experience in building and growing talents in the past would be a plus
- Must be able to adopt to the fast-paced environment with changing requirements and multiple different technologies
