The Role
Morningstar DBRS team is looking for talented, hands-on and result-driven Manager of Software Engineering in Mumbai office. This role will work closely with cross functional teams, QA teams and other development teams to ensure a timely and high-quality delivery. Will have to coordinate and work with the members in a global team in an Agile way. We are looking for an individual that can apply discipline, create solid software products and be accountable for deliverables.
Responsibilities

  • Lead a full stack software engineering team
  • Expertise in Software Development, Software Architecture and Design.
  • and provide guidance to the team on solutions to issues/problems faced
  • Take ownership of the various areas of the software/product delivery
  • Collaboration with global team members across various locations.
  • Create and oversee project timelines, tasks/responsibilities, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with groups throughout Morningstar to proactively identify and manage dependencies
  • Monitor apps in production using various tools like New Relic, Splunk, AppDynamics etc.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies and be a mentor to the junior team members


Requirements

  • A minimum of 9+ years' experience with a software development experience of which 3+ years of architecture/technical leadership is a must
  • Hands on development experience using Python using FAST or other MVC frameworks is must
  • Hands on experience with AWS services including exploration, adoption & deployment
  • Hands on experience using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Harness etc. is must
  • Hands on experience using database like RDS & NoSQL is must
  • Hands on experience in .net or JavaScript frameworks like Angular/VueJS/ReactJS is a plus
  • Hands on experience in DevOps skills & processes is a must have
  • Strong knowledge of software development processes and methodologies, including Agile and Scrum methods
  • Excellent understanding of Source Control tools preferably Git
  • Good Interpersonal relationship & problem-solving skill is required
  • Experience managing technical projects/tasks and tech teams
  • Experience with capacity planning, performance optimizations and system architecture are must
  • Understanding of protecting web applications from common security vulnerabilities is must
  • Experience working in Scrum-based methodologies a plus
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or an engineering field; a graduate degree is strongly preferred
