Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our Manufacturing Department as an Operations Program Manager 2 located at our Sunnyvale, CA campus supporting the Machinery Systems Unit. In this role you will be working closely with the Program Manager and Manufacturing Operations functional management and will be responsible for continuous improvement projects and execution of the manufacturing scope of a multi-million dollar defense program.
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Operations Program Managers (OPMs) manage all phases of program manufacturing from inception through completion. The OPM is responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of manufacturing scope on development, LRIP and production programs. The OPM leads and coordinates manufacturing activity across the program life cycle, from capture/proposal through execution/production and contract closeout. The OPM coordinates the preparation of operation budgets and manufacturing plans. They act as the primary customer/PM contact for all manufacturing activities, leading program review sessions with customer/PM to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. The OPM establishes high level manufacturing milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules and identifies problems and obtain solutions such as allocation of resources, changing specifications. They coordinate the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, financial and administrative areas.

Propose, plan/baseline, and execute to performance management baseline.
Champion and lead Change Management Processes and Continuous Improvement activities to resolve problems and improve efficiency.
Coordinate responses with functional organizations to keep projects on schedule.
Perform risk and opportunity management functions for the manufacturing scope in concert with the overall program RSKOM effort.
Manage EVMS and Control Account Management (CAM) functions for manufacturing scope.
Mentor and guide functional CAMs within operations.
Manage individual contributors.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with minimum 9 years of Manufacturing or Program Management experience; Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of Manufacturing or Program Management experience
Minimum of 3 years of being a team lead of people or direct people management
Excellent interpersonal communication and interface skills at all levels internally and externally is critical to success in this role.
Experience in collaborating with employees within a department and across functions.
Fluent with MS Office products - PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Word
Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP experience
Competency with managing production in SAP in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or Engineering Management or a Master's degree in Engineering or Management
PMP Certification
Command of Earned Value Management Concepts and Techniques
Government contract experience
Experience with hardware production proposals
Salary Range: $125,800.00 - $188,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
