The Association for Talent Development (ATD) is the premiere membership organization for those dedicated to the learning and talent development industry. This Role…
ATD’s Education Team executes the delivery of 500+ open enrollment courses annually. We work to provide exceptional, impactful, industry-leading learning experiences for our attendees. In addition, our team serves as the liaison to 120+ course instructors around the globe, training room facilities, and countless partners who share in our success.
As the Manager, Product Development at ATD, you will report to our Associate Director, Product Development and Learning Technology supporting the broader Education department. This role will manage the development, revision, and maintenance of courses for the talent development profession.
Specifically, the key initiatives and responsibilities of this role include:

Assist in creating and maintaining a multi-year product development roadmap instructional design initiatives to including prioritization, scoping, and resource allocation.

Lead a team of instructional design project managers and education project specialists who are responsible for executing and supporting curriculum development projects.

Provide oversight on strategic course development initiatives across multiple learning modalities (instructor-led, live online, asynchronous on-demand, and blended).

Manage relationships with external suppliers who are resourced on product development projects.

Oversee project teams including project managers, subject matter experts, course facilitators, and instructional designers who create and/or update education products.

Maintaining a repository of current instructional design processes, templates, and guidelines to ensure consistency.

Communicate development best practices to project teams.

Evaluate and enhance course designs.

Maintain a product portfolio of 100+ courses.

Manage the complete course lifecycle from pilot testing to final production to updating to maintenance.

Enforce effective editing and version control processes to ensure the highest degree of quality and accuracy across all content.
About You...
-
5+ years engaged in the planning, design and development of adult learning programs and solutions with previous experience as a team leader or manager
-
Knowledge of modern curriculum design, adult learning theories and authoring tools

Experience working in a hybrid work environment, consistently demonstrating positive business acumen

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Proficiency in working within various learning technology platforms a plus
-
Proficiency in rapid development tools a plus

Excellent skills in problem-solving, interpersonal communication, writing/editing, planning, organization, time management, multi-tasking, productivity, and efficiency

Bachelor’s Degree is required; masters degree in a related field is preferred

Our programs are available in a variety of ways, including in-person open enrollment, live online, on-demand e-learning, on-site at client organizations, and globally through channel partners in select regions.

The Association for Talent Development is a hybrid organization headquartered in Alexandria, VA. This is a hybrid position, please note in-office time is required.
