The Position
This position will be responsible for leading key pricing/contracting strategic projects, analyses, and reporting. This position will serve as key stakeholder responsible for driving Gross-to-Net analyses across the Novo Nordisk, Inc. (NNI) portfolio, including 340B analytics to support policy and program assessment, duplicate discount analyses, alternative model scenario planning, and other gross-to-net forensics to identify opportunities to drive revenue capture. The individual will leverage data from multiple sources to understand business problems to provide analyses and support on the positioning and pricing of Novo Nordisk products. This includes contributions to support product pricing for new Therapeutic Areas, strategic pricing projects including but not limited to alternative distribution channels, and the gross-to-net impact of affordability programs. This position will also provide support to the Strategic Advisor of the VP - PCOR, and other key reporting deliverables.
Responsible for driving key initiatives and gross-to-net forensics projects across PCOR teams by improving transparency, capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration, while reducing complexity. Initially this is achieved by managing initiatives related to creation of insights, building organizational capabilities, promoting cross-functional collaboration and connecting across PCOR and key stakeholders. The role is also responsible for proactively driving and creating performance presentations with senior stakeholder audiences (ET, ExecMgmnt, BoD, Disclosure Committee) and other relevant presentations, coordinating closely with other relevant Strategic Advisors in Finance & Operations (F&O), MAPA and the BUs.
Relationships
Reports to the Associate Director, Pricing Insights & Strategic Planning. Works and partners closely with other team members in Pricing & Policy Insights, Strategic Pricing; PCOR Leadership; FP&A; MAPA Leadership; Strategic Advisors in MAPA and F&O; Government Pricing & Compliance; Strategy and Innovation; Market Access; GBS; Enterprise Insights; Investor Relations; Finance; Commercial; Other Novo Nordisk internal departments such as Legal, etc. External relationships include field Account Executives and Directors, Novo Nordisk A/S, professional associations, vendors, and customers.
Essential Functions

  • Pricing Insights
    • Owns G2N forensics based on the impact of channel level profitability
    • Leads 340B analyses
    • Proactively seeks buy-in from key stakeholders and engages in continuous communication regarding project status
    • Provides assessment of investments and gross-to-net impact of patient affordability programs, and provides recommendations on channel optimization
    • Provides guidance into contracting and pricing strategy development based on G2N forensics and analytics
    • Conduct deep dives on specific topics within pricing/contracting area to find root causes, identify opportunities and define solutions (e.g., 340B, Duplicate Discounts, etc.)
  • Reporting & Analysis: Develops presentations for senior management regarding G2N forensics and analytics
  • Supports the Strategic Advisor to the VP - PCOR in overseeing PCOR departmental strategy planning process determining gaps and opportunities within the department and engage internal and external partners to address gaps and create platform for growth
  • Supports the creation and coordination of executive level presentations across PCOR including but not limited to: ET, ExecMgmnt, BoD, Disclosure Committee, Audit Committee and F&O SLT as priority engagements
  • Executive Ad-hoc Support: Provides ad hoc analyses as required, within any of the tasks listed above; Routinely provides analysis and insights to inform ET and ExecMgmnt deliverables (e.g., BoD, BRM, etc....)
  • Establish strategic business partner relationships with key stakeholders
  • Pro-actively seek process improvement opportunities by challenging existing processes, proposing solutions, and driving approved implementation plan


Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
This is a hybrid role, requiring up to 3 days per week onsite in Plainsboro, NJ.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to apply analytical methods and tools necessary to translate data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • A minimum of 5 years of insights and analytics experience preferred. 5 years pricing/contracting experience preferred. Pharmaceutical analytics and/or consulting experience is required
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible, relevant experience (pricing, contracting, forecasting, consulting, sales analysis, insights/analytics, finance and reporting); At least 2 years within the pharmaceutical industry and gross-to-net experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to create clear and simple presentations in high quality
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate extensively with key business partners and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) or similar experience required
  • Ability to organize, effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced matrix environment
  • Ability to perform complex analyses (analytical, quantitative and qualitative) required
  • Attention to detail with an ability and readiness to delve into and resolve data problems
  • Creative problem-solving with ability to solve complex unstructured problems; see opportunities through
  • Experience analysing pharmaceutical data, specifically Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, data is required Experience with data visualization tools preferred
  • Strong ability to work independently as well as in teams
