In this role, you will direct others (internally and externally) on the implementation of programs to grow our business.

What you need to know about this position:
The Cocoa Life program is a cross-sectorial partnership between Mondelēz intentional, government institutions and various not-for-profit and development organisations. Therefore, the candidate would be required to interact and build relationships with:
- Ghana Local Government (District Assemblies)
- Ghana Cocoa Board
- Partner NGOs and development organizations
- Community leaders
- Cocoa farmers
- Third party verifiers and auditors
What extra ingredients you will bring:
In line with Mondelēz International's Vision 2030, and more specifically regarding the mission and objectives of its signature cocoa sustainability program, Cocoa Life, the M&E Manager is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the program delivery by implementing partners as well as tracking financial spending.
The role supports the Country Lead and Operations Lead with data and insights for evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement of program components. He/She is also responsible for supporting program retooling with feedback from the outputs of monitoring to among other things improve learning and sharing with the Cocoa Life Program in Ghana and other origins.
Additionally, the M&E Manager will:
- Review existing program M&E framework and make recommendations for sustainability and full integration of M&E activities into the implementation of program activities in Ghana.
- Relate closely with the Program Managers of Implementing Partners and their M&E Officers to design and implement appropriate M&E systems that will capture information on project indicators for the purpose of tracking and reporting on program performance.
- Develop program indicators and determine if and where specialized data collection or analysis beyond the routine capabilities of implementing agencies are required and draw up detailed terms of reference for those studies where needed.
- Conduct M&E training for the Implementing Partners involved in the implementation of program activities. Work closely with program Implementing Partners to establish operational arrangements for collecting, analyzing, and reporting project data, and for investing in capacity building, to sustain the M&E function.
- Coordinate the development of the program Management Information System to ensure it is fully responsive to the needs of program M&E and develop simple reporting formats to be used in collecting data by field staff of Implementing Partners, and communities.
- Supervise and coordinate the regular collection, compilation, and management of data across the Implementing Partners.
- Including the Consistent Implementation Quality System, undertake routine data verification, validation and systems clean-up for quality assurance purposes.
- Review the performance reports produced by the Implementing Partners and suggest necessary changes to ensure that the established guidelines on program M&E for different program components are implemented as planned. Coordinate the conduct of special studies for improved program performance and quality.
- Facilitate the monitoring of activities through field visits; quarterly reporting processes such as POP; and annual review and planning meetings.
- Lead the proof of performance (PoP) process which includes convening the one-to-one meetings, aligning and tracking project performance, quality reporting and archiving.
- Support program verification/ auditing usually performed by third party by making available required documentation and fully participating in all program site visits.
- Coordinate a seamless program's records keeping, archiving, and retrieving process ensuring accurate and verifiable program processes, activities, high data quality and timely reporting.
- Maintain accurate program's data structures such as the Community Location and Activities Records (CLAR), PoP reports, and dashboards.
Education / Certifications:
- Masters' degree in related field.
Job specific requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience in project M&E and related fields preferably in cocoa sustainability or agriculture.
- Proven experience with logical frameworks and other strategic planning and measurement approaches including quantitative, qualitative, and participatory M&E methods and approaches.
- Expertise in M&E solutions designed to address institutions, sustainable agricultural practices, and socio-economic variables.
- Hand-on experience on data handling, data quality assessment and improvement, data compilation and analysis.
- Proven experience in providing M&E solutions to rural communities participating in cocoa sustainability program where farmers are organized into cooperatives.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with experience in presenting projects and program to stakeholders.
- Experience in assessing partner performance, developing continuous improvement and remediation of plans.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and team-working skills for strengthening and building capacity of local organizations.
- Experience in conducting M&E and/or impact assessments of programs and projects, preferably related to agriculture and poverty reduction focused programs.
- Excellent research, analytical and report writing skills and ability to produce clear, concise, and timely written reports.
- A work history that includes multi-tasking and working with various levels of partners and stakeholders.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other MS software for data analysis.
