Job Duties and Responsibilities
Boost Mobile, an EchoStar Company, is seeking a driven and experienced Software Development Manager to lead a high-performing team within our Retail Wireless Core Technology group. As a Software Development Manager, you will be instrumental in leading and mentoring a talented team of engineers responsible for developing and maintaining critical microservices that power our retail wireless platform. You'll play a key role in bringing new product services to life, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems, and driving continuous improvement in our development processes.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor software engineers, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning through regular team meetings and one-on-ones.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Work closely with BSS/OSS SMEs, Technical, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of microservices.
  • Lead the development of innovative solutions, collaborating with architects and technical leads to identify and address solution gaps.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing development processes, code quality, and team efficiency while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
  • Support senior management with strategic planning, rollout, and monitoring while providing regular updates on project status and team performance.


Skills, Experience and Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for building high-performing teams. Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical management role, leading and mentoring software development teams
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development using the following technologies:
    • Java/J2EE
    • Spring/SpringBoot
    • Microservices & Event-Driven Architecture
    • OpenAPIOpenAPIication
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • REAWSul APIs and API ManAPIment tools (e.g., Apigee, AWS APIAWStAPIy)


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies.
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for professional interactions with employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks effectively, manage capacity, and create project roadmaps.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, maintaining effectiveness under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, counseling, and mentorship to team members.


Salary Ranges
Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $157,300.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
