What does the job entail?

The Manager II, Product Line Manager role will be instrumental as Allbird’s continues building industry leading Footwear.   This role will focus on driving product creation from inception, including crafting product briefs, analyzing business metrics, researching trends, building visual line plans, and collaborating with Product Design & Product Development teammates as we bring these concepts and briefs to life. This position will develop seasonal product initiatives and assortments that meet revenue targets/financial metrics and deliver on the brand vision and strategy, as well as marketplace segmentation needs. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Product, this role is accountable for ensuring the Global assortment answers regional needs while driving for a cohesive global assortment that best represents Allbirds brand.

This role will partner with Merchandising, Planning, Sales and Marketing to drive brand priorities and concepts through a comprehensive go-to-market process. Lastly, this role will also help ensure the accuracy of product information in our product management system and help optimize the management of product samples across the Company.

What you will be doing

  • Actively contribute to the development of the product strategy and seasonal line plans that deliver on seasonal and long term financial and operational goals.
  • Manage product creation process through a robust partnership with product design and product development.
  • Build product and color briefs that clearly outline consumer needs and business objectives to build a robust seasonal product roadmap.
  • Build assortment visualization tools for an effective merchandising process to inform planning and commercial decision making.
  • Gather consumer insights, market research and interpret opportunities (competitive
  • analysis/comps shops) to translate into seasonal initiatives and product briefs.
  • Build seasonal Global assortment plans and reconciles Global assortment with regional merchandising plans at key milestones to ensure alignment
  • Participate in and present content at key Product Creation milestones in front of cross-functional audiences (both internal and external, inclusive of Sales Meetings)
  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning and Finance teams to develop product lifecycle plans that meet / exceed margin targets across product portfolio
  • Participate in the cross functional Go-To-Market meetings, ensuring product vision is brought to life in store and online with Retail and Marketing partners
  • Inspire confidence across the brand, demonstrating expertise on product, consumer, and marketplace

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Merchandising or related field, or no BA and at least five years of footwear development or factory manufacturing experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in retail, product line management, merchandising or product
  • Development.  Strong experience in footwear preferred
  • Basic knowledge in financial, business, and strategic line planning
  • Understanding and familiarity of the product design and development process
  • Sales or marketing knowledge in wholesale, retail or direct businesses.
  • Basic understanding of managing product gross margin.
  • Business orientation, analytical aptitude, and computer skills, experience with Google Suite a plus.
  • Excellent ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Comfortable presenting with all levels of internal employees, executives and external audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide guidance and advice within an area of expertise.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, adapt to changing demands, and make quick yet well thought out decisions will be essential in this role
  • Good written and verbal English communication.
  • Organized, and able to multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with a great sense of ownership around the work that is being done.

Work Environment

Work takes place in an office setting. This job may require working more than 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours a week. It requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and by computer. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, and carry up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 15 lbs occasionally.  


What do we offer?

In Office: The  pay range for this role is: $115,000 - $130,000 and must be performed in either our San Francisco, CA or Portland, OR corporate office. 

Allbirds routinely evaluates pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other considerations.  We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location, skillset, experience and peer compensation.
