Job Description:
The qualified candidate will be a part of Microchip’s Frequency and Time Systems (FTS) Business Unit, reporting directly to the Sr. Planning Manager for Systems Operations and indirectly to the Sr. Operations Manager – FTS. This position will take responsibility for production and material planning of multiple product lines across all FTS sites. This position will also have the primary responsibility for Demand Planning through the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, requiring strong collaboration with the Product Line Manager, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Supplier Operations, and Management will be critical to meeting business goals. This role provides the opportunity to be a key influencer in the development and continuous improvement of the supply chain planning process at as part of the Systems Operations Group with Microchip
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage, direct, and assist all members of the planning and production control for the FTS BU in day-to-day activities across 4 manufacturing sites.
- Mentor and assist in the development of staff members (carrying out performance reviews and working with the team on their development plans)
- Preparation of management/executive scorecards and reporting. Participation in management meetings and operational reviews.
- Lead and develop SIOP process within BUs and Site
- Gather information relating to the forecast from various sources including meetings with BU representatives and customers.
- Provide clear build requirements/forecast to internal and external manufacturing partners. Monitor delivery and lead improvement activities.
- Work on and lead inventory management activities ensure inventory targets are met.
- Partner with procurement team to support identification and validation of material requirements and best practice inventory management and controls.
- Transformation of the supply chain process to improve efficiency using MRP and wider ERP as the core.
- Maintain accurate MRP inputs, diagnose incorrect MRP outputs, and utilize MRP functionality to manage supply and demand efficiently.
- Cross-train with existing members of staff to help cover sickness/vacation periods.
- Coordinate with Engineering on NPI products to help achieve best possible time to market.
- Manage with team, new and existing product ramps ensuring availability of appropriate capacity and resources
- Lead and drive continuous improvement activities within the supply chain.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree and 4+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 10+ years of experience working in one or more of the following:
- Engineering
- Purchasing
- Material or production planning
- Operations or supply chain management
- Master production scheduling
Preferred Skills and Experience
- APICS Certification
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Willingness to travel between sites in Colorado, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (AX) or similar ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Subject matter expert in Bill of Materials (AMRs/EMs/eBOMs/mBOMS) and work orders
- Demonstrated track record of performance - in driving results and influencing others
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think long-term and develop strategic plans that align with the company's goals.
- Leadership and Influence: Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Customer Focus: A strong focus on customer satisfaction and the ability to anticipate and meet customer needs.
- Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Tools: Proficiency in Excel and in using data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to analyze and visualize supply chain data.
- Change Management Skills: Experience in leading change management initiatives to drive process improvements and organizational change.
- Strong experience in leading a team across multiple sites in a multicultural environment.
