The Manager, PMO role will support GTS PMO operations governance, and lead the delivery of technology initiatives in support of the BeiGene GTS PMO function. This individual will apply proven leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT investments through effective delivery of technology initiatives.

This position will actively partner with and lead high-performing project teams to drive best-in-class project and program delivery, refine the global technology project lifecycle and deploy cloud/SaaS applications in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate should bring experience and expertise in planning and managing projects and programs across different functions in a global, geographically diverse environment.  

Essential Functions of the job:

Team Management

  • Collaborate closely with GTS staff and team members, share expertise and guidance, and build team rapport through demonstrating BeiGene’s company values.
  • Partner effectively with GTS leadership, business partners, relationship managers, project sponsors, stakeholders, customers, colleagues, and vendors in multiple locations, and across multiple time zones.

Project Governance and Operations

  • Support the refinement and improvement of a project governance framework, PMO standards and structure as well as standardized communication and reporting.
  • Support metrics, dashboards, and other portfolio reporting tools to drive awareness and decision-making.
  • Perform activities to sustain and enhance PMO tools, methodology and processes.
  • Provide consulting and guidance on methodology, processes and tools to GTS staff, business customers and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a domain partner for GTS and cost center leaders, providing PPM expertise, guidance, portfolio oversight. Support PPM-related training and process documentation.
  • Maintain processes, including training manuals, checklist documents, guides, and templates.
  • Analyze technology requests to deliver solutions focused on establishing and improving business processes and continued efficiency and value for the organization.

Technology Project Delivery

  • Direct, motivate, and manage geographically diverse teams to deliver effective technology initiatives. Track and manage scope, requirements, tasks, risks, deliverables and escalations.
  • Ensure a project framework for technology initiatives including scope, timeline, tools and deliverables. Establish, maintain, and monitor project and program collateral (e.g., task plans, RAID, and other tracking logs).
  • Identify and document business requirements, execute Discovery efforts, and support the formation of business cases. Define project goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective business analysis to capture as-is and to-be processes, business benefit.
  • Facilitate and coordinate project-related quality, validation and testing activities.
  • Coordinate and drive OCM-related activities, training sessions, workshops, and process documentation.
  • Provide routine project status reporting and updates to portfolio. Ensure project closure and sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably life sciences, IT, data analytics or related discipline).
  • 5+years direct experience delivering medium- to large-scale, enterprise-level projects and programs in a GxP or regulated environment and within an SDLC/SLC framework.
  • 3-5 years direct experience deploying applications and/or systems. Preferably in the biotech, pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired.
  • Proven experience in planning and deployment of software solutions, especially cloud-based systems.
  • Proficient with business standard project management applications (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet), flow chart applications (e.g. MS Visio, Lucid chart) and standard office applications (e.g., MS Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Experience with data, reporting and analytical tools (eg, PowerBI, Tableau). 

Key Competencies

  • Proven people management, cross-cultural and cross-functional team leadership skills.
  • Solid communication skills, including the ability to articulate results and recommendations of analysis to a variety of audiences within the organization (e.g., laterally across peers, and upward to Senior Management).
  • Familiarity with core IT capabilities – eg, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Operations, Security and Business Intelligence.
  • Experience with core biotech/pharmaceutical software applications, eg, MES, LIMS, QMS, CTMS, and other Clinical/Biometrics systems.
  • Ability to effectively adapt, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure and agile environment through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Organizational Change Management (OCM) efforts and developing communication and change-related content.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and directed. Ability to proactively multi-task and perform effectively under time pressure.
  • Proficient with standard project management applications (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet), flow chart applications (e.g., MS Visio, Lucid chart). Smartsheet certification preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • This position includes coaching and mentoring of junior staff with training, orientation, qualification, and development plan when required. 

Travel:  < 10%

Salary Range: $116,300.00 - $156,300.00 annually

BeiGene is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
