A Day in the LifeMedtronic is expanding their footprint for Diabetes Care with a center in Pune and as the Manager for Global Testing for Digital Technology, India, this role is responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing a team of quality engineers / automation engineers/ performance engineers promoting collaboration across diverse teams, implement strategies to identify, assess, and resolve quality issues and challenges within Digital Technology.

As a Manager for Global Testing within Digital Technology, this role requires expertise in enhancing the quality, efficiency, scalability, performance, and user satisfaction of our system.

  • Manage a team of quality engineers to provide guidance or feedback on areas of improvement.

  • Coach, motivate and inspire QE team members to achieve and exceed performance results.

  • Develop robust functional and performance tests with team to support functional and sizing requirements, collaborating closely with development and operations teams to experiment and optimize environment sizing.

  • Increase automation in the modules with early feedback to developers by shifting left and influencing the right tool sets required.

  • Analyze test cases and conditions to determine optimal running tests by evaluating root cause in product support tickets and adjusting test patterns

  • Stay up to date on contemporary software development best practices, emerging technologies, and design patterns, contributing to thought leadership initiatives.

  • Develop and implement QA strategies aligned with business goals

  • Drive adoption of industry standard QE methodologies and practices.

  • Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the SDVLC

  • Conduct code reviews of test scripts and assist in complex debugging scenarios

  • Define and track quality metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization.

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Computer Science, Computer Networking, IT Systems) 

  • 10 - 15 years’ experience as a QA and testing Manager. Responsible for coaching, mentoring, and career development.

  • Proven ability to create, revamp, improve processes to increase efficiency. 

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, people management and best practices.

  • Understanding technologies, mentoring team, managing QE Team across multiple platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, RCM, Automation and Performance.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with distributed systems / micro service architecture.

  • Relevant certifications in ISTQB.
