Firmware Engineering Manager

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to Integer Core Value and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the engineering activities on the assigned program(s) to comply with cost, schedule and technical requirements and established engineering practices in order to meet program commitments within an ISO 13485 development system.
  • Reviews all technical changes. Coordinates the analysis of the impact of technical changes to schedule/budget and ensures implementation and consistent design integrity.
  • Manages and oversees ongoing firmware development (both internally and with external development partners), and hands-on firmware development. Projects will run through the full development life cycle including product definition, specification, development, testing and post-release support.
  • Develops business strategies, financial analysis and prepares leadership to ensure programs achieve objectives.
  • Effectively communicate to customers, direct supervisor, clinicians, as well as higher level corporate management on project development. 
  • Manages associates and resources to achieve customer’s expectations and goals.
  • Provides leadership to Associates in all areas including: hiring, performance management and objective setting, coaching, counseling and corrective actions.
  • Manages team performance, development, and training process to ensure a highly skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Leads and provides guidance to staff members through continuous improvement and business process improvement activities.
  • Manages and oversees the daily activities of one or more staff members. Responsible for the review and communication of annual performance reviews.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor´s degree in a technical field.
  • Minimum Experience: 6+ years of experience in software/firmware development required and 3+ years of supervisory experience is recommended.

  • Ability to develop product specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster a team-based environment including project team members, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Self-motivated leader who can effectively motivate peers and subordinates to achieve overall project and company objectives.
  • Extensive experience in designing and managing complex software development systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects within schedule and budgetary requirements desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
