We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manager of Financial Operations – Creator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing a range of financial operations specifically focused on content creators, ensuring accurate payments, creator related financial issues, accounting reconciliations, and the handling of new initiatives. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a smooth and efficient process for content creator financial management while ensuring compliance with tax and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations which include and not limited to managing accuracy and efficiency of creator payments.
- Responsible for working with development teams on execution of financial operational and reporting requirements from the accounting team for new/evolving business initiatives
- Responsible for reviewing, understanding and execution of contractual guidelines Reviewing includes and not limited to measuring performance against the agreed guidelines
- Work closely with creator support team to manage any financial inquiries from creators
- Ability to multitask and work quickly while being able to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment
- Responsible for managing the fraud prevention process
- Assess and/or develop ways of measuring the business performance
- Have an understanding of subscription business and revenue recognition principles
- Responsible for ensuring W9s are collected and subsequently issuing 1099s in a timely manner
- Work with the Controller’s group with involvement in the financial close process
- Manage, mentor, guide and oversee team members ensuring all tasks and expectations are being met
- Has a uncanny ability to get things done with a sense of urgency
- Perform Ad hoc analysis and other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in financial operations or accounting, preferably in a content creator, media, or digital platform environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems and tools for tracking and managing payments, accruals, and contracts.
- Experience with tax compliance, including 1099 preparation and reporting.
- Ability to manage complex reconciliations, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of managing multiple, time-sensitive projects with accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams, creators, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Accounting designation CPA, CA, CMA, CGA will be an asset
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in the content creation, influencer marketing, or entertainment industry.
- Knowledge of creator payment structures and financial modeling for digital platforms.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Odoo, etc.).
Annual Compensation Range: $101,000-$125,000 CAD base + benefits + equity
Note: The salary range listed for this position is a good faith estimate based on experience, qualifications, and internal compensation structure. The actual salary offered varies depending on the candidate's skill level and experience.
