Summary
This position is a key member of the Financial Disbursements team, reporting to the Head of Financial Disbursements, that manages the day-to-day Financial Disbursement operations (Accounts Payable Processing, Travel and Expense Reimbursement and Corporate Card Administration), processes and strategies as a shared services operation, meeting all deadlines and related responsibilities in support of the enterprise and the strategic vision of leadership while ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of payments. Specifically, this role will be accountable for operations, suggest and collaborate with Financial Disbursement team members and global colleagues to implement continuous improvement opportunities, review issues log, develop risk mitigations strategies and ensure all systems are operating well as designed. Ensures compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Optimizes Financial Disbursement technology through system upgrades and other proven automation practices to build efficiencies and stay ahead of the latest technological trends. Works closely with Finance, Procurement, Legal, IT and other departments, as required. Increased focus will be placed on global opportunities to improve processes, tools, harmonization and standardization.
Responsibilities
- Optimizes Financial Disbursement technology through system upgrades and other proven automation practices to build efficiencies and stay ahead of the latest technological trends. Works closely with Finance, Procurement, Legal, IT and other departments, as required.
- Oversees the training and revisions of all Financial Disbursements technology applications and other linked systems. Translates business / functional goals into appropriate Financial Disbursements strategies and solutions.
- Ensures all systems and data operate and are maintained to the agreed quality and service requirements
- Leads the planning and deployment of system upgrades, including the scheduling of key activities and communicating of system downtime to appropriate parties. Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual processes across the team in conjunction with our Financial Disbursements roadmap.
- Leads efforts to develop new initiatives, as well as reviewing and streamlining current system procedures and practices as related to Financial Disbursements technology applications. Evaluate alternative methods of service delivery and follow through execution.
- Assist with the daily management of the customer support ticketing system for the Disbursement group (e.g. Zendesk).
- Assists Head of Financial Disbursements to manage Financial Disbursement operations, processes and strategies as a shared services operation, meeting all deadlines and related responsibilities in support of the enterprise and the strategic vision of leadership while ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of payments.
- Leads cross-functional initiatives and ensures that Financial Disbursement processes are consistently applied across the enterprise and manages governance to ensure compliance, understanding and remediate gaps.
- Ensures compliance with State and Federal reporting. Coordinates with Treasury on cash flow management.
- Ensures that all to-be processes address all current business requirements in the following areas: vendor master maintenance, invoice processing, cash forecasting, payment processing, monthly and quarterly accrual preparation, including:
- The day-to-day Accounts Payable and TE processes
- Month end and quarterly disbursement closing processes
- Vendor software administration for various ancillary applications
- Support of the current staff on issues resolution
- Train accounts payable staff on future processes as required
- Create and update accounts payable processes and procedures when required
- Update relevant policies and procedures regarding Accounts Payable and TE processes
- Develop reporting metrics/insights for the Financial Disbursements team – Scorecard
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Provides key insights to Head of Financial Disbursements to set the vision and strategy for the Financial Disbursements group in alignment with the global strategy and support of local needs.
- Ensures the Financial Disbursement processes and tools are aligned with the global strategy and support the global design and implementation efforts.
- For regional specific needs, implement appropriate processes and tools based on business needs and in support of the global vision.
- Stay versed in best in class and industry trends; propose enhancements to the vision and strategy.
- Serve as a key advocate, change leader and influencer within the Daiichi Sankyo organization.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
- Bachelor's Degree Finance or Accounting required
Experience Qualifications
- 4 or More Years 5+ years SAP Accounts required
- 3+ years in Supervisory role required
- 3+ Concur Travel & Entertainment software experience preferred
- 3+ years Accounts Payable Project experience preferred
