CNN is looking for a Manager of Email Marketing to take charge of our email marketing strategy, focusing on engagement, retention, and growth for CNN's digital subscription product. This role will be pivotal in managing seamless campaign operations across the lifecycle, optimizing automation, refining list segmentation, and analyzing performance to enhance the customer journey.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in email marketing operations, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Your Role Accountabilities:

  • Email Campaign Execution: Lead the end-to-end execution of email marketing campaigns, including building, testing, scheduling, and deploying emails across various customer segments to ensure maximum impact.
  • Automation Management: Oversee and optimize automated email workflows for onboarding, retention, win-back, and other lifecycle stages, ensuring timely and personalized communication.
  • List Segmentation & Targeting: Collaborate closely with data and marketing teams to define and implement audience segmentation strategies based on behavior, demographics, and engagement metrics.
  • A/B Testing & Optimization: Design and implement A/B tests for subject lines, content, timing, and targeting strategies, continuously refining approaches to improve email performance metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside creative, design, and product teams to ensure email campaigns align with overall business goals, enhance customer experience, and support product launches.
  • Email Deliverability & Compliance: Monitor email deliverability rates and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and data privacy laws. Maintain proper list hygiene and data governance practices.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Analyze campaign performance metrics and generate comprehensive reports for key stakeholders, providing data-driven recommendations for strategic improvements.
  • Tool Management: Oversee email marketing platforms, ensuring proper integration with CRM systems and optimizing tool usage for maximum effectiveness.
  • Campaign Calendar Management: Maintain a comprehensive email marketing calendar to ensure timely and relevant communications that align with broader marketing and promotional initiatives.
  • Continuous Optimization: Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and new technologies in email marketing to continuously enhance campaign effectiveness and operational efficiency.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in email marketing operations or lifecycle marketing, preferably within a subscription-based business or high-growth tech environment.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable) and a strong understanding of A/B testing and audience segmentation techniques.
  • Email Marketing Expertise: Proven track record in email performance tracking and optimization, with proficiency in data analysis tools to drive insights and recommendations.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple email campaigns simultaneously while meeting deadlines and optimizing for performance.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Strong familiarity with email compliance regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR) and best practices for email list management and deliverability.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $77,000.00 - $143,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
