The Manager Design Engineering for Cytiva is responsible for managing the workload of the Design Engineers and Data Stewards to assure KPI's continue to be met.

This position is part of the Design Engineering department located in Medemblik, The Netherlands and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

• Manage and coach the Design Engineering team to assure KPI’s are being met (drawing approval, part number set-up in ERP system, batch manufacturing record creation)
• Visualize, prioritize and ensure timely completion of projects that are requested by (among others) Sales, Operations, Quality or Field Application Specialists.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering & Product Engineering teams from other sites, Manufacturing and Quality to align and improve processes in a dynamic environment.
• Support the Design Engineering team in resolving manufacturing and customer complaints and ensuring timely completion of corrective and preventive actions.
• Have a strong focus on continuous improvement of products and processes.
• Apply Danaher Problem Solving Process and use A3 actions plans to solve complex problems; take a new perspective on existing solutions; exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. 
• Responsible for talent management to ensure the continued development for direct reports.

Who you are:

• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience as an engineering manager in a manufacturing / MTO environment.
• Minimum bachelor’s engineering degree. Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Strong leadership, teamwork and cross functional cooperative skills required. 
• Fluency in Dutch and English required.
• You have a conceptual and practical expertise in Product Engineering disciplines including in-depth knowledge and technical experience of production, equipment, and processes. Furthermore, you have a basic knowledge of related disciplines like R&D, Operations and Quality.
