What you’ll do at Elekta 

As a Manager Control Systems, you will be managing a team that are developing the real-time software that controls multiple axis in our radiation therapy devices to safely deliver radiation to patients. You will collaborate cross-functionally in the product creation and maintenance process empowering the team to make the right decisions. 

You will lead the team of 15+ Software and Verification Engineers that work on the development of the new product features for our Linear Accelerator machines and radiation therapy products portfolio. You will also work in close collaboration with other managers leading their teams to deliver interfacing parts of the system 

Responsibilities 

The overall responsibility of the role is to set the strategic direction and leadership within the Control System domain. The main responsibilities lie within two areas: software product delivery and team leadership responsibility: 

Product development & delivery: 

  • End-to-end responsibility of the system elements developed by the team 
  • Support development of product- and technical roadmaps featuring these subsystems 
  • Oversee systems engineering within the subsystems, including system decomposition, risk analysis, and requirements definition in collaboration with System Engineers 
  • Ensure process compliance and the quality of engineering deliverables 
  • Realize product roadmaps to achieve new feature roll-out supporting commercial objectives 
  • Maintain product performance ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability 

Team leadership & people management 

  • Build and sustain a high-performing team that efficiently delivers value 
  • Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvements 
  • Foster a Lean-Agile mindset within the team 
  • Allocate and balance resources effectively within the domain 
  • Lead capability and competence planning, including recruitment, succession, performance management and development 
  • Maintain a positive, safe and productive work environment 

 
What you bring

To be successful in this role, we believe you should also have:  

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or another relevant field 
  • Thorough experience in Software Engineering within a product development organization 
  • Experience in agile methodologies 
  • Experience of working in a safety-critical industry, preferably in the medical sector 
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
