You manage technical and scientific professionals to provide consumer science support to projects and programs and develop the technical content for strategic plans and initiatives.
How you will contribute
You will support projects or programs (including research design) to meet objectives, produce quality, actionable data and make recommendations to ensure the projects or programs are completed to the required standards and within the agreed to timetables. In this role, you will help develop departmental plans and budgets in line with corporate requirements, direct qualitative and quantitative consumer research, ensure there is a consumer-centric approach to all programs and projects, and partner with stakeholders (including R&D and commercial/insights) to secure resources. You will also manage and coach staff to help them understand consumer science and hone their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
What you will bring

  • A qualification in food science, engineering, psychology, sociology, food technology, food chemistry or similar area
  • Consumer science including several years managing complex programs
  • Managing a team of professionals
  • Statistical theory and its application to sensory/consumer research
  • Leading, Influencing and interacting cross-functionally at multiple organizational levels
  • Partnering with clients and/or stakeholders
  • Communicating and influencing skills and working collaboratively internally and externally in an ever changing commercial and technical environment
  • Critical thinking and thought leadership to deliver complex, ambiguous programs


This role will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting consumer data to help shape business strategies and drive key decisions across marketing, product development, and customer experience. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, data-driven, and able to translate insights into actionable recommendations that support our company's strategic goals.
Please note that this role is not focused on Sensory Analysis.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of consumer research projects, both qualitative and quantitative, to understand consumer needs, preferences, behaviors, and market trends.
  • Translate consumer insights into clear, actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams and senior leadership team to support decision-making.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Solid experience in consumer insights, consumer science, consumer technical insights or any other field related to the consumer analysis.
    • Proven experience with qualitative/quantitative research methodologies and work with innovation pipelines, renovation projects, etcetera.
    • Experience in the CPG industry is a plus, however, other industries are welcomed (beauty, pharmaceutical, etcetera).
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present data and insights in a clear, engaging manner.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
