Job Description Summary
The Manager of Commercial Data and Operations will own execution for sales operations and commercial operations business processes, including Alignment Targeting Reporting and Incentive Compensation for multiple field sales teams. The Manager will be responsible for analyzing and managing commercial data, building dashboards, and reporting systems to support sales, marketing, and market access functions. This role will be pivotal in providing actionable insights through data analysis, with a strong focus on building business intelligence dashboards using tools like ThoughtSpot and Power BI.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, optimize, and design field team alignments using workload and opportunity indexes.
- Develop strategic physician and institutional target lists for sales teams utilizing brand strategy, demographic, and behavior data to increase market penetration and drive product uptake.
- Oversee the incentive compensation planning cycle for multiple field sales teams, including goal setting, analysis, calculations, and end-of-cycle payouts.
- Design and develop real-time business intelligence dashboards with ThoughtSpot, leveraging Snowflake data warehouse and SQL to integrate, analyze, and visualize data.
- Manage comprehensive data visualizations and dashboards for marketing, market access, and sales intelligence.
- Provide expertise in creating live dashboards that support decision-making processes across sales, marketing, and leadership teams.
- Lead the design and management of data reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate insights for field and leadership teams.
- Analyze geographic, key account, and product-level sales performance to proactively identify insights and communicate key trends.
- Mentor team members in ThoughtSpot, Power BI, and other dashboarding tools for effective data visualization and analysis.
- Serve as a commercial expert on sales team alignments to aid in master data management.
- Expertise in manipulating healthcare datasets (such as IQVIA/Symphony/867/Specialty Pharmacy)
- Assist in revenue reporting and analytics through trend analysis, field input, standard reporting, and ad-hoc reporting
- Communicate business insights and key trends to marketing, market access, and sales leadership
- Lead ad-hoc analysis as needed to support evolving business requirements and provide timely business insights
- Facilitate strong cross-functional communication to promote brand-level knowledge sharing and integration of key learnings.
- Mentor sales analysts in ad-hoc analysis, business process analytics, and sales and marketing analysis for respective field teams.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above, required
- Experience building live dashboards in ThoughtSpot from Snowflake data warehouses.
- Strong SQL skills, with an ability to extract and manipulate large datasets.
- 5+ years of experience supporting sales and marketing systems and processes.
- Expertise in designing and developing business intelligence dashboards for marketing, market access, and sales intelligence.
- Demonstrated business communications, influencing, and situational awareness skills
- Proactive self-starter with an ability to lead through influence
Preferred Skills
- Consulting experience especially related to pharma/biotech business and systems
- Digital transformation initiatives
- Project management experience and/or certifications
