Echoing Green’s Programs Team aims to find and fund visionary leaders working to combat systemic inequity, and aims to support and connect our growing network of ~1000 social leaders through both community and capacity building.
The Capital Vertical has direct responsibility for designing and implementing an equitable and disruptive Fellow selection process, building follow-on investment programs to support the continued capital requirements of our alumni Fellows, and managing a fellow-centric payment disbursement process.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Capital, we are looking for a Manager, Capital to project manage the year-round implementation of Selections / Disbursements processes for the Programs team.
What You’ll Do
As the Manager, Capital, you will lead key workstreams that include:
Follow-on Funding Grant Program Management
- Oversee Echoing Green’s Follow-on Funding Program, supporting Alumni social innovators in transitioning from pilot to scaling stages by providing unrestricted grant funding to validate their models and expand their impact.
- Refine program offerings and selection criteria using qualitative and quantitative data, aligning with Fellow needs, ecosystem gaps, and Echoing Green’s strategic plan.
- Prepare and present process updates and proposals based on feedback from internal and external stakeholders (e.g., staff, reviewers, Fellows).
- Design application forms, scoring rubrics, and evaluation methodologies that reflect program goals and Trust-Based Philanthropy best practices.
- Manage accessible project plans with clear roles, deliverables, and milestones.
- Lead cross-functional teams through up to two grant cycles per year, covering recruitment, screening, decision-making, and due diligence.
- Facilitate post-process debriefs to identify strengths and opportunities for growth, ensuring an equity-centered approach.
Messaging and Communication
- Create user-friendly, jargon-free manuals, training materials, and documents for stakeholders (e.g., process overviews, reviewer training materials, fiscal sponsorship process maps).
- Draft culturally responsive, clear, and error-free communications for external audiences.
Grant Management and Payment Processing
- Maintain accurate systems for Fellow information, design processes for timely payments, and track special offerings like fiscal sponsorships and recoverable grants.
- Oversee systems for collecting Fellow banking, tax, and other required information.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely payments of grants, stipends, and honoraria.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payment issues for Fellows.
- Develop and enhance processes for managing special financial offerings like fiscal sponsorships and recoverable grants.
- Create communication materials to explain offerings and address Fellows’ questions.
Inclusive People Management & Departmental Support
- Guide a cross-functional team, including Associate-level staff, toward achieving data-driven program goals using equitable people management tools.
- Represent Echoing Green nationally or internationally through occasional travel (1–3 times per year).
- Global Social Justice Orientation: Facility with discussing, managing processes, and continuous learning that roots out identity biases in a globally resonant way
- Innovative Process Management: Faithfully documents, manages, and iterates on processes with an eye for advancing the team’s goals and the fields of trust-based philanthropy, equitable selection, and participatory grantmaking
- Sharp Prioritization: Unyielding solution orientation to juggling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, global organization
- Systematized Data Collection and Analysis: Rigorous system builder around collecting and analyzing patterns in qualitative and quantitative data to inform systems design and impact
- Detail-Oriented Communication: Attention to detail in written and verbal communication across internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels (e.g. senior staff, Fellows, external judges, peers)

Annual salary starting at $84,000/year
