Datadog’s Business Value team, part of the broader Go-to-Market (GTM) Enablement organization, partners with Sales, Customer Success, and other GTM teams to help customers realize the business impact of their investment in Datadog. From building compelling ROI/TCO business cases to scaling value selling practices across the field, we play a strategic role in driving high-impact deal outcomes and executive alignment.
We’re seeking a Business Value Manager to lead a high-performing team of Business Value Managers and drive strategic customer engagements across North America, with a focus on our Majors and Customer Success segments. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic, customer-facing leader who operates as a player-coach; someone who can both execute and scale impactful business value engagements, while mentoring a growing team and shaping new value offerings tailored to the needs of Sales and Customer Success. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Technical Post Sales, Product, and Marketing, directly influencing Datadog’s bottom line, coaching your team, and driving meaningful customer outcomes at scale.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate as a player-coach and lead a team of Business Value Managers responsible for supporting strategic deals with business value assessments and value based programs
- Shape and scale business value offerings for Customer Success and Majors customers in North America, helping teams quantify and communicate value throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Own and deliver business value assessments for high-impact opportunities, including value discovery, ROI/TCO modeling, and executive-level storytelling aimed at driving value realization and account expansions.
- Present strategic recommendations and business cases to senior stakeholders, including C-level executives.
- Act as a connecting thread between pre-sales and post-sales teams to pilot and operationalize global programs that enhance the value maturity of teams and drive customer outcomes.
- Pilot and iterate on new business value programs in partnership with Sales, Customer Success, and Enablement teams. Collaborate on field enablement by contributing to value selling curriculum, training, and coaching programs.
- Represent Datadog externally by participating in webinars, thought leadership forums, and customer events focused on value realization.
Who You Are:
- A strategic thinker with 5-7+ years of relevant experience in Business Value Consulting, Enterprise Sales, Management Consulting, or similar fields; 3+ years in customer-facing advisory roles involving executive engagement.
- Experienced in leading or mentoring teams, with strong management and stakeholder alignment skills.
- A self-starter, comfortable initiating and leading programs in a dynamic environment.
- A strategic problem solver who demonstrates the ability to create the future through effective customer engagements.
- Someone who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional settings, particularly with Sales, Customer Success, and other key GTM partners.
- Analytical and business-minded, with proven ability to build ROI/TCO models and connect technology to financial outcomes.
- An exceptional communicator and presenter with a strong executive presence.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving structure where needed.
- Passionate about helping customers succeed and enabling internal teams through coaching and content creation.
- Familiar with SaaS, enterprise sales motions, and complex sales cycles.
- Willing to travel up to 20%.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
