You will be responsible for set up and integrate various broadcasting equipment in broadcast area, especially around video acquisition, encoding processing, multi-distribution platform, broadcasting and streaming services; checks equipment for operational readiness; provides operational instruction to others as needed.
You will work on initiatives oriented to the seamless acquisition and delivery of video content across our diverse multiplatform stack, including DTH, OTT, IPTV and DTT
You follow best-practice guidelines and help to improve them, your projects are easy for others to understand. You are part of a team and with the team extend, maintain and operate assigned parts of our platform
You have a good understanding of the user needs within your service and work with the product owner and other team members to translate these into technical solutions. You work through the entire lifecycle of a service or product, from understanding requirements, setup to deployment, support and maintenance. You show an understanding for deadlines, find pragmatic solutions and are proactive in raising potential risks
You will help the team in solving the challenges that arise as our business grows and develops; working together to ensure the service continues to meet the needs of our business and its customers
Key Responsibilities
- Help lead team prioritization discussions in close collaboration with stakeholders
- Estimate and own delivery tasks (design, setup, test, integration, configuration, documentation)
- Drive setup/design/process trade-off discussions within their team when required
- Be a voice of the team, performing demos/acceptance discussions with Product owners and confidently communicating elsewhere when needed
- Drive adoption of technology standards and practices and review design, test, and automation work of team members
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in the development process.
- Tests and evaluate new equipment for possible purchase by station or department; recommends equipment for purchase.
- Mentor and guide new and less-experienced team members
- Act as the primary point of contact for communication between stakeholders and the broadcasting team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ proven success in leading and managing broadcasting projects, delivering complex tasks on time and within budget.
- 7+ years of experience in broadcast, with a focus on video encoding and content distribution.
- 3+ years of experience working with Cloud and networking technology
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD processes, and Broadcasting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering creative solutions to challenging problems.
- Advanced English skills, both written and spoken
