The Manager associate Scientist Downstream Purification will be part of the Downstream Purification (DSP) team of the Flu Baculo Drug Substance division in Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT)-Vaccine.
MSAT acts as a crucial link between R&D and Manufacturing facilities, playing a vital role in securing the present portfolio and delivering future launches of high-quality and innovative drugs and vaccines. MSAT fulfils an important function by providing day-to-day manufacturing support, focusing on process aspects, effective life-cycle managements (LCM) strategies, process robustness enhancement, and yield improvement to optimize performance and costs.

Main Responsibilities:
-
Execution of development work as outlined by Senior Scientist and in collaboration with others on projects.
-
Execution of small-scale recombinant protein purification experiments using chromatography (AKTA platform), filtration, clarification/ depth filtration, column packing, and tangential flow filtration independently based on expert knowledge of protein purification and analysis with an in depth understanding of all modes of chromatography. Sample testing (BCA, SDS-PAGE/Western Blot, Purity, SRID, etc.).

Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results. Exercise technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to projects.

Commercial manufacturing shop-floor support as needed.

Preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.

Follows documented procedures.

Participates in general lab maintenance.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar discipline with 2 years' experience in pharmaceutical industry.

Master's degree in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar discipline with no prior experience needed in the pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting chromatography workstations and process skids
-
SDS PAGE and Western Blot, SRID, BCA, Purity, etc.

Knowledge and experience working with automated high throughput process development equipment.

Working knowledge of scientific principles and concerns
-
Manufacturing support systems including change controls, deviations, CAPA, root cause analysis, etc.

Good documentation practices (GDP). Experience in writing standard operating procedures (SOP), batch records, and reports

The salary range for this position is:
$73,500.00 - $106,166.66
