Key Responsibilities:
- Perform reviews and approvals to ensure smooth month end close with timely and accurate submission including areas covering General accounting, Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury while partnering with various stakeholders to achieve goals. This includes review of journal entries, schedules and reconciliations, and providing guidance and advice on more complex issues regarding actual results.
- Ensure tax compliance, which includes reviewing of GST, withholding tax and corporate tax, legal results budget and forecasts
- Collaborate with cross functional teams/Recommend and lead projects to execute tactical projects and/or improvement initiatives within scope of project deliverables.
- Ensure internal and statutory compliance (e.g., SOX, internal controls, statutory audit, quarterly reporting such as Controller checklist and 10-K report, and corporate secretarial matters)
- Planning and analysis work, involving analyzing ROI (Return on Investment) of expenditures for major Capital projects as well as reviewing balance sheet and legal tax budget and forecasts.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in in Accounting or Finance,
- Public accounting experience is preferred
- Professional qualification like ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent is required
- 8 years experience of previous related experience is required
- Experience working in a large manufacturing company is preferred.
Additional Skills:
- Proven expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel, database tools (e.g., QlikView), financial systems, and ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP)
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
- Recognized as an expert in own area with specialized depth within the organization
- Expert understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- Expert understanding of related aspects of financial processes and/or systems
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to represent leadership on projects within a specific area interfacing with project managers and finance team
- Ability to consult in project setting within specific financial area
- Ability to provide financial leadership to outsourcing partners on a task level
- Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
