Job Description:

At Regions, the Mainframe Operator acts as the first responder to alerts/alarms for issues with the Bank's critical technology infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitors Alert Viewer Dashboard and takes action as necessary on alerts for the following: Regions.com, online account opening, iTreasury, mobile banking, windows servers, UNIX servers, and firewalls
  • Monitors Middleware MQ Dashboard and takes action as necessary on alerts
  • Monitors Voyager TP Servers specific to iBank and takes action as necessary on alerts
  • Monitors the following: Help Desk automated call distributor (ACD), server patching updates, weather channel for events that could impact branches/automated teller machines (ATMs)
  • Performs remote reboots of downed branch servers (nights/weekends)
  • Maintains Mission Critical Monitoring Knowledge database
  • Monitors branches, ATMs, and network at night and on weekends; takes action on alerts as necessary
  • Reports circuit issues to carriers and creates tickets on behalf of network
  • Escalates per process to upper management when issue resolution is delayed
  • Opens an outage bridge as issues are escalated
  • Creates outage timeline for severity one outages
  • Works under close supervision

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Additional Job Description

  • Must have ability to navigate and manage TSO/ISPF
  • Must have strong understanding and troubleshooting knowledge of MVS, JCL and Jes2
  • Experience with monitoring and understanding of PCOMM IBM mainframe system consoles, OMEGAMON, automated job scheduler IWS, and ServiceNow

This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will work a 3:00pm to 11:00pm schedule including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary locations being for Birmingham, Alabama. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
