About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will apply machine learning to create and optimize solutions in impactful areas such as incentives targeting. Through continuous innovations and improvements, your work will be instrumental in driving sustainable growth.

About the Team 

Our team comprises highly skilled Machine Learning Engineers focused on ML-driven systems such as incentive optimization, contributing to Instacart’s growth.

About the Job 

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions to tackle practical problems.Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and backend engineers to ensure the ML solutions are well-integrated and aligned with business goals.Improve the reliability and scalability of our ML systems.

About You

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

MS or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field, with 0-3+ years of industry experience focused on machine learning.Strong programming skills in PythonFluency in data manipulation (e.g., SQL, Spark) and machine learning tools (e.g., scikit-learn, Tensorflow and Pytorch).Have strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilitySelf-motivated individual with a strong ownership mindsetStrong communicator who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years of industry experience in productionizing large-scale machine learning models and systemsProven track record of sovling impactful problems with urgency and qualityKnowledge of deep learning frameworks and methodologies.

Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here. Currently, we are only hiring in the following provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.

Offers may vary based on many factors, such as candidate experience and skills required for the role. Additionally, this role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants. Please read more about our benefits offerings here.
