Luminate is looking for a VP of Partnerships to join our partnerships team!

This position exists to drive strategic growth by building data partnerships and expanding collaboration opportunities within the music and entertainment industries. The role leverages industry expertise and established relationships to identify new data integration possibilities and market opportunities. The VP of Partnerships will lead a small team to execute partnership strategies while cultivating key industry connections that enhance the company's data ecosystem and market position.

Location: 

This position requires 4 days in our NYC office, with 1 day working from home.   

The Role: 

  • Develop and maintain strategic data partnerships with key players in the music and entertainment industries, consistently nurturing these relationships through regular communication and value-driven proposals.
  • Lead business development initiatives to identify and secure new data integration opportunities that align with company objectives and enhance the organization's market position.
  • Manage a small team of business development professionals, providing clear direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to achieve partnership goals.
  • Create comprehensive partnership proposals that clearly articulate mutual benefits, technical requirements, and implementation timelines for potential music and entertainment industry collaborators.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape within the music and entertainment sectors to identify emerging partnership opportunities and potential data integration innovations.
  • Present partnership progress, outcomes, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on a monthly basis using data-driven insights and clear metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, legal, and product teams to ensure smooth implementation and management of data partnerships throughout their lifecycle.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to establish new connections and strengthen the organization's presence in the music and entertainment ecosystem.

Who you are: 

  • Bachelors degree requested, MBA preferred 
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, partnership management, or related roles within the music and entertainment industries
  • Deep knowledge and contacts within the music industry and/or entertainment industry, specifically the VOD (Video On Demand) market
  • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining successful data partnerships with major industry players
  • Strong understanding of data integration processes, content licensing models, and metadata standards in media ecosystems
  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills with the ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders
  • Experience leading and developing small teams to achieve strategic business objectives
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and opportunities within the rapidly evolving entertainment landscape
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and partnership management tools

Our base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000. We consider your skills and experience, what similar jobs pay at companies of our size, and ensure fair pay among colleagues. Final base salary offer amounts are determined by factors including your experience and expertise. In addition we are proud to offer additional perks and benefits that contribute and complete our total compensation package.  Luminate reserves the right to change our compensation bands at any time.
