The successful candidate will be part of GMO’s London based Operations team which deals with a broad range of operational processes to service GMO’s Irish domiciled funds. The role will provide the opportunity to work closely with GMO’s Business Development and Client Relationship teams around the globe; with colleagues from various teams based in Boston; and with the external service providers for GMO’s Irish domiciled funds. The successful candidate will develop an in-depth knowledge of GMO’s client onboarding processes and fund structures and be given the opportunity to assume increasing responsibilities overtime.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
- Responsible for all operational aspects of onboarding new investor accounts including working closely with the transfer agent, internal compliance teams as well as performing internal system setup.
- Manage investor onboarding communications internally with the GMO client service team as well as externally with investors and intermediaries.
- Monitor and oversee upload of daily investor flows to ensure they are communicated timely to the investment teams liaising with the transfer agent as necessary.
- Work closely with and monitor GMO’s Irish domiciled fund service providers to ensure the highest quality service is being provided.
- Oversee the fee reimbursement process for GMO’ Irish domiciled funds and documentation of fee terms for investors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a strong internal control environment is maintained, ensure that GMO adheres to all related SOC1 controls and procedures are kept current.
- Review audited financial statements and interim financial statements for the funds;
- Prepare data based on investor activity for regulatory and internal reporting.
- Manage updates to investor account information in CRM database.
- Ad hoc tasks and projects, for example, manage the operational elements of new share class launches and enhancements to our processes and systems.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in the asset/wealth management industry.
- Degree in Finance/Accounting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with multiple internal and external counterparts to resolve operational issues with a client focused perspective.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fund structures would be beneficial.
- Experience in an onboarding or client service role with platform or wealth managers would be beneficial.
- Proficiency with MS Excel (Macros) would be beneficial.
- Proven ability to learn new concepts and systems quickly.
- A willingness to take on new tasks while exhibiting a "can do" attitude.
- Experience handling diverse situations and rapidly changing priorities intra-day.
