Job Scope:

A new opening for a Demand Planning & Logistics Team Leader to join us at FLS. In this role, you will ensure optimizing the supply chain processes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods, and accurately forecasting demand to meet customer requirements and business goals of Pumps-Cyclones-Valves mineral processing operations.

Your responsibilities: 

Demand Planning

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and business intelligence.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather input for demand planning.

  • Monitor and adjust forecasts based on changes in market conditions, customer demand, and inventory levels.

Logistics Management

  • Oversee the planning and execution of inbound and outbound logistics operations.

  • Ensure efficient transportation, warehousing, and distribution of products.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to optimize delivery schedules and costs.

  • Implement and monitor logistics KPIs to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

Inventory Control

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Optimize inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

  • Utilize data analysis and lean methodologies to streamline logistics and demand planning processes.

  • Lead cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing supply chain performance.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including production, sales, marketing, and finance teams.

  • Communicate demand and logistics plans effectively to ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for logistics and demand planning inquiries and issues.

Technology and Systems

  • Utilize advanced planning and logistics software to enhance forecasting and logistics operations.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry technologies and best practices.

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting in relevant systems.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCP) are a plus.

  • Experience in logistics, demand planning, or supply chain management

  • Experience in a leadership role within the mineral processing or heavy equipment industry.

  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize demand planning and logistics operations.

  • Good problem-solving skills to address logistical challenges and improve supply chain efficiency.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in logistics and demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA) and familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies.

  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in demand forecasts, inventory management, and logistics operations.

  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, customer needs, and industry trends.

  • Commitment to meeting customer requirements and enhancing customer satisfaction through efficient logistics and demand planning.

  • Ability to think strategically and align logistics and demand planning activities with overall business goals.

  • Experience in logistics roles, preferably in the mineral processing or related industry.

  • Experience in sourcing, evaluating, and managing suppliers and vendor relationships.

  • Experience in inventory control, stock management, and optimization.

  • Experience in data analysis and reporting to support inventory decision-making.
