Position Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for all transportation, warehousing, and dunnage management across the company’s US operations and customer base. The company is in a rapid growth trajectory, and the Logistics Manager position is a key bridge between production, sales, and the customer. As a leadership role, it requires the ability to build a strong team that manages and delivers on safety, customer satisfaction, and operations excellence.
Essential Functions/Key Deliverables

Be the business Leader for implementing and owning Transportation, Warehousing, and Dunnage systems.

Logistics Manager will be responsible for budgeting and owning a spend of $25-35 million annually.

Manage a direct report team 3-4 individuals, who oversee 40-50 employees.

Oversee negotiation of truckload and LTL freight contracts in a business that will grow to over 100 T/L’s per day with up to 2,500 daily pallet transactions.

Develop planning models and strategy to manage workflow for manning, future space, and equipment requirements.

Create a continuous improvement culture to eliminate waste through setting best practices, training, and potentially automation or software solutions.

Create, manage, and forecast Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for space, dock, equipment and manpower utilization. Use the KPIs to anticipate, problem solve, and communicate adverse conditions to leadership.

Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Ensure the department learns and documents that all transportation and warehousing SAP transactions are done correctly. Develop documentation and training to create sustainable workforce.

Create performance management metrics for self and team members. Measure, document progress, and address deficiencies.

Ensure quality, delivery to budget and environmental objectives are met.

Implement, maintain, and monitor all Health and Safety regulations, rules, procedures, standards and policies, hygiene, and security in the work environment.

Establish, follow, and enforce standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations for all environmental requirements as stipulated in ISO 14001 and BRCGS procedures and guidelines on Health & Safety.

Preparation and participation in both internal and external audits.

Facilitate weekly and monthly department wide meetings to report out KPIs, productivity, and key initiatives.

Participate in recruitment and selection process.

Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Business Logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous SAP experience a plus, and also TMS tendering and carrier management software.

Strong analytical skills, ability to draw conclusions from data and anticipate future constraints.

MS Office including demonstrated Excel experience to convert data, write formulas, and provide information that makes informed decisions.

Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.

Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.

Previous managerial experience required.

APICS Certification a plus.
