What will you bring to the team.
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a self-directed Linux Engineer with previous experience in software development, to join our team in Guadalajara, Mexico. The Software Engineer designs, builds, and supports custom software solutions for some of the world’s largest retailers.
What you will be doing:
Your typical day as a Toshiba Linux/Windows Engineer will involve:
- Developing new custom functions and assisting with defect fixing.
- Extending the automation / continuous integration platform, including tests.
- Working closely with the QA team to ensure quality deliverables.
- Creating product user’s documentation.
- Providing configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance support.
- Linux and Windows scripting.
Naturally to be successful in this role, you must have and know of:
- Good English written and verbal communication.
- 4+ years hands-on experience working in any UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience reading and programming scripting languages such as: Bash/Shell, PowerBasic, PowerShell or Python to automate tasks.
- Familiarity with software engineering lifecycle and methodologies.
- Experience working with and building production-ready highly secure applications and services for internal customers.
- Hardware experience.
Nice to have:
- Linux: Kernel, Advanced Bash, Boot sequence.
- TrueNas/FreeBSD administration.
- Familiarity with software design patterns.
