As the Legal Operations Principal at Via, you will support and implement regulatory compliance initiatives, assess and prioritize risks, develop risk mitigation policies, conduct compliance research, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards across the organization.

As a Legal Operations Principal at Via, you will assist in implementing and supporting Via’s Regulatory Compliance team, including its: risk framework and methodology; insurance portfolio management; corporate governance and standards; third party risk management; and operational risk analysis. You will be responsible for partnering with impacted business units to ensure that our product and services meet regulatory compliance standards. The Regulatory Compliance team identifies, measures, monitors and reports risks and exposures connected to Via’s consumer, Software as a Service (“SaaS”) and Transportation as a Service (“TaaS”) services.

What You'll Do:

  • Identify and prioritize risks facing a complex tech-enabled global transit business
  • Develop and operationalize risk mitigation policies and procedures
  • Conduct regulatory compliance research and drafting risk assessments
  • Establish consistency and standards across the organization with regulatory compliance documentation and reporting
  • Train employees on regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Prepare and submit responses to regulatory audits and inquiries

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree required, J.D. or M.B.A. optional
  • Minimum of four years of compliance experience
  • Strong analytical / research skills coupled with ability to effectively summarize findings in a succinct and organized manner
  • Ability to grasp complex processes quickly, be able to identify risks and compensating controls and make appropriate recommendations
  • Excellent oral, written, critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the transportation industry preferred 
  • Sound understanding of compliance and operational risks and internal control framework
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
  • Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 per year
