Job Description
The India Legal Entity Group Controller (LEC) has oversight responsibility for the integrity (completeness and accuracy) of financial statement/regulatory reporting information recorded in managed legal entities. This requires collaboration with the lines of business (business managers, product / business controllers) that have activity in that legal entity to ensure that legal entity implications (e.g., accounting policy, regulatory reporting, capital, etc.) of transactions are considered. The LEC is also responsible for ensuring capital adequacy & other financial reporting ratios.
Job Summary:
As an Analyst/ Associate within the LEC team, you will be responsible for providing coverage to NBFC and Broker Dealer entities.
The role involves regulatory reporting, Local GAAP, statutory audits, regulatory automation agenda, concurrent audits, regulatory inspections. The role is based in Mumbai.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive and manage the month-end books of account closure in accordance with Indian GAAP and US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with statutory auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Preparation, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and timely submission of all regulatory returns
- Coordinating for automation agenda for LEC
- Drive annual budget discussions and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) with businesses.
- Review of new product launch from regulatory, accounting, reporting and control view point
- Preparing financials presentation as part LEC agenda to various local committees and senior management
- Ensure accuracy & compliance: Maintain accuracy in all reporting processes, identify discrepancies, and ensure all reports meet regulatory standards.
- Addressing any regulatory reporting issue promptly and accurately
Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- A recognized professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Banking and Financial Service industry
- Possess strong process and control mindset and keen attention to detail
- Mature, independent, self-motivated, conscientious, able to work under pressure and drive changes
- Good Stakeholder Management skills
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation skills analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative team player with a proactive approach
