Overview: This legal counsel role will play a critical part in supporting BJ’s corporate, compliance, and commercial matters by providing clear, commercially minded, and strategic legal advice to BJ’s business teams. Success in this role requires a team-first attitude, drive, excellent business judgment, strong communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to build strong cross functional relationships. Responsibilities:

• Support compliance with securities laws and regulations
• Research, analyze, and manage complex legal issues (corporate, compliance, commercial)
• Support engagements with BJ’s business teams to understand and drive practical solutions
• Work with other attorneys and paralegals to address and support corporate, compliance, and commercial matters
• Perform other duties as assigned or as circumstances warrant

Qualifications:

• J.D. from top law school
• At least 2-4 years of AmLaw 100 corporate / transactional experience required
• Active licensure in at least one jurisdiction (Massachusetts bar admission not required)
• Strong client service focus and team orientation
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Personal integrity, tact, excellent discretion, and the ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
• Ability to explain legal issues clearly and concisely

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
