As Legal Counsel, you’ll give legal advice to FCC employees in targeted areas of the law applicable to FCC’s business - lending, corporate and commercial contracting, employment and more.
What you’ll do:
- Consult and give legal advice to staff regarding lending and other corporate functions
- Help develop and interpret lending policies, forms and procedures
- Stay up to date with legislation affecting FCC and spell out how it could impact business
- Respond to legal inquiries from customers, external legal counsel and other government Crowns
- Support projects like new loan products or proposed changes to corporate policy

- In-depth knowledge of legal concepts, processes and best practices
- Skilled communicator able to explain complex information in a way that’s easy to understand
- Strategic thinker who can collect, analyze and develop objectives from multiple sources
- Relationship-builder comfortable working with colleagues at all levels and across disciplines
What you’ll need:
- A bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) or a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and at least one year of experience in corporate legal function or private practice (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
