At Xendit, we are seeking a Legal Counsel (Vietnam) who embodies our values and represents our commitment to excellence in legal matters. As a Legal Counsel at Xendit in Vietnam, you will play a critical role in navigating the regulatory landscape of the Vietnamese fintech market. You will work closely with Xendit’s business teams to ensure compliance with local laws, provide legal advice, and manage contracts essential for Xendit’s Vietnam operations. Preferred Qualifications
- Education: LL.B or J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to the Vietnamese Bar is preferred.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in a legal role, ideally with exposure to the fintech, technology, or finance industries.
- Local Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Vietnamese financial, regulatory, and data protection laws, with a focus on fintech compliance.
- Contractual Skills: Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, with strong attention to detail and risk assessment.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret and provide practical solutions on complex regulatory requirements.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, comfortable working cross-functionally within an organization.
- Proactive Attitude: Solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Analyze local regulations relevant to fintech, payments, and data protection, providing compliance guidance and keeping Xendit updated on new developments.
- Legal Advisory: Provide counsel on Vietnamese laws governing fintech and financial transactions, ensuring business activities align with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including partnership and client contracts, ensuring favorable terms while mitigating risk.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a legal point of contact for Xendit’s Vietnam business units, collaborating with internal teams to address legal needs and maintain operational compliance.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal risks, advising business leaders on strategies to mitigate risks within the regulatory framework.
- External Liaison: Work with external counsel when necessary to manage more complex legal issues or regulatory matters.
- Internal Liaison: Be the legal team’s eyes and ears on the ground and provide regular updates of all matters going on in Vietnam.
