Legal and Regulatory Change Management (Securities Services Operations) - Control Manager

As a Control Manager - Legal and Regulatory Change Management in Operations Control Management team within Securities Services Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting our Securities Services business. You will provide coverage for APAC Securities Services Operations to support Legal and Regulatory Change Management as well as Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA) program. You will be responsible for the completion of Legal and Regulatory Change Management (LRCM) related BAU tasks for Securities Services Operations in the APAC region, including determining the impact of Office of Legal Obligation (OLO) program in-scope regulatory developments to the APAC Operations, confirmation of operational readiness in cooperation with affected Operations teams, and process / document mapping of changed / new obligations. The role will also support analysis related to Compliance Risk Assessment. The OLO program is a firm-wide, global initiative that brings together the expertise of Legal, Lines of Business (LoBs), Control Management, Compliance, Risk and other key control functions, to (i) document JPMC's Obligations arising from material laws, rules and regulatory requirements and (ii) connect the Obligations to policies and procedures that support compliance with those laws, rules, and regulations.
Job responsibilities
- Review OLO in-scope regulatory developments to assess impact to APAC Securities Services Operations within firm-wide and CIB LRCM framework, which includes weekly intake and triage process
- Partner with Securities Services line operation teams to ensure that process/procedure/system changes are implemented to meet obligation requirements
- Develop subject matter expertise in Securities Services country coverage portfolio, local legal and regulatory framework, connectivity to local Regulatory Change Forums, and work closely with front office representatives to understand applicability of regulatory change to the business from Front to Back
- Map documentation and processes to align with obligation requirements through internal business-driven changes under OLO process flows or proactive reviews to ensure the evergreening of the obligation inventory
- Identify opportunities for leveraging OLO LRCM process to enhance efficiencies and governance of regulatory change management for APAC Operations
- Collaborate with Operation Control Managers, Operations teams and key stakeholders to ensure a clear and consistent interpretation of applicable obligations
- Perform regular reporting to Senior Management regionally and globally
- Act as a subject matter expert on OLO process, tools and related topics
- Respond and resolve items identified by Quality Controls, Quality Assurance, and Audit
- Analyze Compliance risk applicability for Securities Services
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with bank or financial institutions in risk & control, regulatory, audit, compliance, operations or related functions
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field
- Business knowledge with regulatory/compliance experience or knowledge of financial products
- Strong business analysis skills to enable efficient, accurate and objective decision making
- Detail oriented, with a highly disciplined approach to process and quality control
- Ability to partner with diverse teams to drive efficiency and process enhancement
- Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks within deadlines
- Candidate needs to be comfortable working and partnering with people at all levels and across all functional areas
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of Securities Services products
- Familiarity with Commercial and Investment Banking businesses
- Strong sense of teamwork
- Ability to collaborate with a global team
- Experience with automation tools e.g. Alteryx, Tableau etc.
- Fluent in written and verbal Chinese is an advantage
