The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As Legal Affairs Supervisor for the Costa Rica GBS for Solventum, you will be responsible for the effective management of a team of people supporting Legal Affairs, including Intellectual Property (IP). You will work directly with the global IP team, with whom you will collaborate and execute patent, trademark, and other legal related work activities.
As a Legal Affairs Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Supervising a team of analysts supporting patent, trademark, and other legal work files, including patent and trademark docketing, prosecution support, and ongoing maintenance and renewals requirements.
- Building expertise in Intellectual Property process and procedures.
- Advising the team, building workflows, troubleshooting problems, and providing coaching and support.
- Implementing process improvements, workflow design enhancements and metrics.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferably corporate.
- Minimum of five (5) years of intellectual property legal experience (corporate or law firm).
- Bachelor’s degree in any field, preferably in Law.
- Advanced English language skills (able to fully communicate and understand the language).
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- IP Management System experience, preferably Anaqua.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills.
- Project management experience.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
- Collaborative, team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Proactivity and ownership.
Work location:
Hybrid Eligible (job duties allow remote work but require travel to Belen, Heredia approximately one (1) day per week)
Travel: May include up to five (5) domestic/international trips per year
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
