Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Lean & Continuous Improvement Intern to join our team the Summer 2025. The ideal candidate will be a sophomore (or higher) student with a strong understanding of engineering principles and processes.

Key Skills and Qualities Desired:

  • Technical skills including problem-solving abilities and communication skills
  • Specific software proficiency (e.g., Excel)
  • Power BI skills (a plus). Willingness to learn, create dashboards thereafter a requirment
  • Familiarity with Time studies
  • Knowledge of 5S principles
  • Understanding of Lean concepts such as Kanban and SMED (a plus)

Academic Disciplines Aligned with Internship Tasks:

  • Any Engineering major, preferrably Industrial Engineering

Primary Job Functions:

  • Conducting Time studies
  • Providing project support to the team
  • Assisting with NPS (Net Promoter Score – Nemera production system) support activities

Level of Mentorship or Supervision Provided:

  • Opportunity for one-on-one mentorship sessions; mentorship will be provided by the entire team of skill enhancement

Specific Projects or Initiatives Interns Could Contribute to:

  • Contributing to the savings goal for the plant

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  •  Student working towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and preferably focused on industrial   engineering or other related Engineering field
  •  Candidates preferred to have completed their second year of engineering studies and entering Junior or Senior year
  •  High problem-solving skills and self-direction
  •  Ability to work in a team or individual contributor

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  •  Familiarity with manufacturing and/or plastic injection molding
  • Technical skills including problem-solving abilities and communication skills
  • Specific software proficiency (e.g., Excel)
  • Familiarity with Time studies
  • Knowledge of 5S principles
  • Understanding of Lean concepts such as Kanban and SMED (a plus)

POSITION RANGE: $20.00- $24.00 USD Hourly(This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.)
