What You Will Be Doing At Woodard & Curran:
Woodard & Curran is seeking a full-time, Lead Water Treatment Operator to join our water treatment staff at our facility in Cohasset, Massachusetts.

Our Lead Operator oversees the responsibility of all daily operations and general maintenance of the water treatment facility directed by the Project Manager. The position involves a variety of both physical and technical tasks such as testing and processing samples in our lab, inputting data into our plant databases, servicing the plant’s equipment, gathering plant data, snow removal, housekeeping and grounds keeping. This position trains and supervises a Water Treatment operations staff of 2. Each day can present a different challenge and learning opportunity. Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for ensuring that the facility meets all process control targets.
- Implements policies and procedures for all aspects of Water Treatment Plant Operations & Safety Programs.
- Supervises the collection of process samples and Distribution System samples.
- Performs in-house lab analysis and interprets their results. May be required to coordinate additional analysis with certified labs for compliance.
- Supervises or performs the adjustment of water treatment systems, operations and equipment to comply with local, state and federal drinking water standards and compliance permit requirements.
- Coordinates with maintenance staff to evaluate equipment performance and correct deficiencies, assists with capital planning.
- Develops and maintains records such as chemical usage, flows, operations equipment and process checklists, diaries, logbooks and laboratory records in accordance with compliance permits and client requests.
- May be required to supervise maintenance activities in the absence of maintenance staff.
- May be required to communicate with regulatory officials and client representatives.
Schedule:
- 7:00am – 3:30pm - Full-Time Days and extended shifts to meet the seasonal demands of the water system – we pay overtime! Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position. Response to emergency events and alarm call-outs required as needed.
What will you need to succeed?
- High School Degree or Equivalent.
- Massachusetts Grade 3T preferred, 3T OIT accepted with ability to achieve Full status.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience maybe considered.
- Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as following safety procedures.
- Proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site-specific systems.
- Valid MA driver’s license with a good driving record.
- May be required to be on call, work an irregular work schedule and overtime hours.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
