Lead UX Designer (open to remote)
Salary: $150000 to $175000 per year
Location: Evanston, IL

Job Role and Responsibility: Design and develop manufactured products. Partner and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including other members of the UX team, throughout all stages of the user-centered design process. Define, socialize and implement best practices for user experience design, leveraging industry standards. Apply strategic thinking and demonstrate awareness of business goals while striving for a highly usable and engaging end-to-end user experience. Create navigation and user interfaces with sitemaps, paper prototypes or wireframes, screen mock ups, behavioral specifications, style guidelines, icons, information graphics to explain user research insights and deliver other design artifacts as needed. Manage project outcomes at all levels, from client / stakeholder expectations to timeline and financials. Ensure all UI definition and development is consistent with usability standards, best practices, and strategy. Strive for optimal usability and user engagement for the end-to-end experience by leveraging industry standards while understanding technology limitations. Establish strong relationships with project teams and clients to generate business. Develop an appropriate understanding of business context and client goals. Cultivate new UX opportunities in collaboration with ZS account teams. Support business development through the writing of proposals, collateral, and development staffing/pricing approach. Teach and mentor junior team members about UX research and design best practices and industry standards. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Design and Visual Communications, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a User Experience Designer role. Alternatively, Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Design and Visual Communications, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or a User Experience Designer role.
Position requires experience with:• Managing end-to-end design projects;• Leading/mentoring teams;• Client-facing experience;• Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Axure;• User-center design principles;• User research techniques: contextual inquiry, user interviews, usability testing, and card sorting;• Incorporating research insights into the user interface design process;• Interaction, information and visual design for business or enterprise dashboards, applications for desktop and mobile;• Articulating design decisions for how they impact the user and relate to user research or best practices to UX Consultants, managers, and diverse members of project teams; and• Working with cross-functional teams (including UX, business consulting, product management, technology, and/or engineering).
