As a Principal Technical Program Manager in Markets Technology, you will lead complex, multi-functional technology projects and programs that will impact experiences for multiple groups across the firm, including clients, employees, and stakeholders. Your advanced analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to break down business, technical, and operational objectives into manageable tasks, while navigating through ambiguity and driving change. Macro Technology provides first class technology solutions across the Rates, FX, Commodities and Emerging Markets businesses within the Commercial & Investment Bank.

The Governance and Modernisation team provide act as a lynchpin for the Macro Technology organisation with delivery oversight for a number of cross-cutting priorities including modernisation of our technology estate, overseeing key governance forums and providing strategic communications to our stakeholders and colleagues.
Job responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust governance framework to oversee technology projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive reporting mechanisms to provide insights into portfolio performance, project status, Prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including technology leaders, project managers, and business partners, to ensure effective communication and alignment on portfolio priorities and objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance portfolio governance and reporting processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and decision-making.
  • Deliver a strategic internal communication plan that aligns with the Macro Technology's goals and supports the broader organizational objectives.
  • Develop and manage engaging and informative content for various internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet, emails, and presentations.
  • Foster a culture of open communication and engagement by creating opportunities for feedback, dialogue, and collaboration across the technology function.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in large organizations
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management methodologies, governance frameworks, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to align communication efforts with organizational goals and priorities and help 'join the dots' between people and ideas
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Determined approach to meet time and quality expectations, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to learn and enhance skills.
  • Advanced analytical reasoning skills, applying critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, and operational objectives
  • Proven ability in leading through change, managing dependencies, and controlling change in high-pressure, shifting environments
  • Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, establishing productive relationships, and driving beneficial outcomes aligned with firm objectives


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of internal tools used by CIB for project reporting / tracking - My DPS, Jira and/or the IP Tool.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering high-quality results within tight timelines.
  • Some managerial experience, leading and managing individuals
