Lead Systems Software Engineer

Position Overview:

Lead Systems Software Engineer position in NetScaler Protocols team that requires you to study, design, code and test new protocols, enhancements or customer requirements. Engineer is required to participate in customer calls, understand issue in depth, be able to articulate, share plan of action, fix issues and validate. Quality consciousness and customer focus needs to a second nature for succeeding in this role.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Innovation and conceptualization of protocol enhancements, study of standards / specifications

• Be an integral part of the NetScaler protocol stack developement team owning specific protocol stacks (L4 – L7) or NetScaler features like caching, compression, protocol extensions

• Designs, develop and test proxy functionality in NetScaler (ADC) product

• Analysis of complex customer issues using gdb core files, tech support bundles, network traces & system logs

• Key focus on quality, product performance, customer responsiveness, debug-ability

• Participate in design, code reviews of peer engineers, mentor team members on new areas

• Automate and integrate test suites along with feature development as part of continuous integration and development process

• Participate in innovation tech fairs, hackathons and ideate on new product enhancements

• Work closely with cross functional teams like product management, support, performance & system test, product documentation teams

• Present and demonstrate new ideas, functional enhancements and exploratory / patentable work

Basic Qualifications:

• University Degree (BE, BTech) or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience; or Master’s degree (MS, MTech ) with 6 years; or PhD with 3 years of experience.

• Outstanding C coding skills; Additional development experience in Python / Go is a plus

• Experience and in-depth understanding of any one of the following protocols TCP, QUIC, HTTP/x (1.1/2/3) is a must

• In depth understanding of TCP stack / hands on TCP stack development experience will be seen as a huge advantage

• Knowledge of Caching algorithms, compression methodologies is a plus

• Strong networking fundamentals and system software is desirable

• Excellent debug-ability, use of network traces to identify issues, gdb core file analysis, scripting is mandatory

• Outstanding in Data structures and algorithms.

• Proficiency in Systems/Server software development, multi-threaded programming, networking concepts/fundamentals.

• Proficiency in Unix/Linux development platform, network and systems programming + debugging.
