Purpose:
This position is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting enterprise technology solutions while leading and interacting with internal teams along with clients and vendors at all levels to identify requirements, formulate technical strategies, create functional design documentation, and provide ongoing support and maintenance of technology Infrastructure.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (relevant work experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
- 5+ years experience with the following disciplines required (depending on role)
- Server virtualization (VMware/AHV)
- Systems Hardware (Cisco UCS / HP Proliant)
- Linux (RedHat and open source variants)
- Enterprise Database (Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle)
- Enterprise Core Network (Cisco Nexus/ACI)
- Local Traffic Mgmt / Global Traffic Mgmt (F5)
- Network Security (Palo Alto / Cisco)
- Systems Configuration Mgmt (Microsoft SCCM)
- Endpoint Mgmt (VMware Workspace One UEM)
- Operating Systems (RedHat / Windows Server)
- Domain Services / Collaboration (Active Directory, Office 365, Zoom)
- Voice (Cisco UCCM/Unity, Five9)
- 2+ years experience with the following disciplines required (depending on role)
- Hyper-converged Systems (Nutanix)
- SD-WAN (Palo Alto Cloudgenix)
- Enterprise Wireless (Cisco Meraki MR / Aironet)
- Enterprise Cloud (Microsoft Azure)
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be highly organized and possess excellent customer service skills
- Experience with system automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and DevOps methodologies enhances consideration
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership acumen and confidence to influence technical peers through strategic delivery
- Ability to present and articulate designs effectively and gain support from critical stakeholders
Essential Job Functions:
- Acting as an Enterprise level Systems Engineer that can manage Tier 3 heavy lifting tasks while also directing other Engineers with solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for the design, development, installation, configuration, and patching activities across enterprise server, network and/or end user computing infrastructure.
- Partner with operations engineers to design, develop and implement improvements to existing infrastructure to increase system stability and performance.
- Design, install, configure, test and maintain operating systems and system management tools
- Guide team members in monitoring and testing application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifying possible solutions, and guide developers to implement those fixes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors providing managed services for infrastructure support, ensuring adherence to established SLAs and other agreements.
- Design, develop, and implement security, backup, and storage solutions.
- Improve visibility into operational and performance metrics to better understand the end user experience
- Identify opportunities for automation and lead others in the design, development, and implementation of custom automation scripts to improve efficiencies and scale across the enterprise
- As an infrastructure subject matter expert, provide Level 3 escalation support for the operations team in the troubleshooting and resolution of stability incidents.
Working Conditions (travel & environment)
- This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
- Limited travel may be required including air and/or car travel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
