Grabber Technology Solutions (GTS) aims to be a technology leader that provides predictive and seamless experiences to all Grab employees (Grabbers). We are a diverse team of technology practitioners looking to outserve Grabbers with positive, personalised IT experiences. We are looking for individuals with similar customer-centric and innovative values to join our growing team.
Get to know the Role:
As the lead systems engineer, you will be responsible for endpoint and patch management in Grab to ensure smooth daily regional operations (Level 2 & 3) and management of tasks/projects for the business. You should have a background in mobile device management, patch management, operating system and application lifecycle management, and scripting.
You will report to the IT System Manager.
This role is based onsite at Grab's office in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
The day-to-day activities:
- Endpoint Management Systems:
- Responsible for endpoint management via Software as a Service (SaaS) - SaaS based systems like Jamf, Workspace One, Cisco Meraki, JumpCloud and Automox.
- Responsible for endpoint deployment, software evaluation, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.
- Responsible for OS patch management and application lifecycle management.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Automation & Optimisation: Automate tasks to maintain operational efficiency on the platform we manage.
- Strategic Collaboration & Direction Setting:
- Work with internal stakeholders, vendors, and business units to set direction for the systems we manage and identify enhancement opportunities.
- Provide Level 2 & 3 IT operational support. Coordinate and liaise with vendors for operational support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across different systems supported to ensure minimal downtime and performance.
- Project Planning & Execution: Lead planning, coordination, and implementation of medium to large-scale solutions deployment and systems integration, tracking project milestones and mitigating risk.
- Solution Procurement & Implementation: Lead new business requirements gathering, RFP, POC, technical evaluation, and business case presentations.
- Coaching and mentoring: Coach and mentor other team members to build their technical competency.
Qualifications
The must-haves:
- At least 8 years of administration/operations experience for Windows / Linux / MacOS / iOS/ Android/ ChromeOS endpoints.
- At least 8 years of experience in Windows image deployment and creation like Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and/or Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK).
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) providers like Jamf, Workspace One, Intune, JumpCloud, and Google MDM.
- Advanced knowledge on Microsoft Configuration Manager or Autopilot for managing and deploying operating systems, applications and updates.
- Advanced knowledge in macOS, iOS, Windows, Android, and Chrome OS management and deployment.
- Advanced knowledge in OS and application patch management, testing, and deployment.
- Advanced knowledge on public key infrastructure (PKI) concepts and certificate lifecycle management.
- Advanced knowledge on Mobile Application Management (MAM), including the deployment, configuration, and management of mobile applications across various platforms to ensure secure and efficient access to enterprise resources.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g. Bash, Shell, PowerShell, Python, Workato).
- Familiarity with security benchmarks (CIS or STIG) , including the ability to implement and maintain security configurations in accordance with these guidelines to ensure systems are hardened against cyber threats.
- Familiarity with Single Sign-On (SSO), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML 2.0), Open Authentication (OAuth), and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and resolve systems-related incidents efficiently.
- Familiarity with change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices
- Experience in project planning and execution, with a track record of delivering medium to large scale IT projects.
- Experience in mentor and coach team members.
- Experience in manage and collaborate with peers and stakeholders.
- Experience in vendor management
Nice to have:
- Awareness of compliance requirements and industry standards.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and configurations.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies & Desktop as a service (eg. VMWare, Hyper-V)
- Familiarity with Network Access Control (NAC) concepts, practices, and configurations of NAC policies.
