About the Role:
As a Lead Systems Engineer at Glassdoor, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of key processes and strategic initiatives across many of Glassdoor’s core IT infrastructure systems. You will be a member of a small team with wide reach and exposure to a variety of best-in-class technologies. Teams across Glassdoor will rely on your technical acumen to aid in the design and operation of production and service infrastructure. Our ideal candidate is highly technical, has experience in technologically diverse environments, and is passionate about creating an amazing employee experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan and direct systems engineering activities on complex systems that solve complex problems, improve efficiency, or create an amazing experience for our employees
- Develop and design network architecture and infrastructure
- Build and manage cloud-based application and corporate IT service infrastructure
- Lead partnership with Security Engineering to implement cloud security solutions (CASB)
- Oversee initiatives that improve Glassdoor’s security posture and reduce overall risk (DLP)
- Build / implement and administer tools and automation to improve efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks
- Work closely with the Information Security team to secure our environment and protect our brand
- Design comprehensive monitoring strategy for corporate infrastructure
- Manage and optimize log aggregation platforms
- Support day-to-day operations for production services and participate in on-call rotations for security incident and outage response
- Act as a point of escalation for our support team and play a role in their technical development
- Assure the availability and uptime of corporate infrastructure systems
- Evaluate, define, implement, and manage emerging technologies that align to Glassdoor’s technology strategy
What You’ll Bring:
- A commitment to add to our culture of DEI.
- Expert knowledge of network technology and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, IPsec, RADIUS). Experience with Palo Alto Networks, Meraki huge plus.
- Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services and managing cloud infrastructure
- Experience with many different Amazon Web Service technologies such as AWS Systems Manager, GuardDuty, Workspaces, and AWS networking concepts like VPCs, Security groups, and Transit Gateways
- Expert in Linux or Windows server OS’s, working knowledge of both
- Extensive experience with client platform management tools Jamf and Intune
- Automation using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell
- Configuration management using platforms like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Familiarity with Active Directory
- Experience managing Atlassian servers such as JIRA or Confluence is a plus
Compensation and BenefitsBase salary range*: $106,000 - $140,800
*Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.
Annual Bonus Target**: 10%
**Bonuses are paid in 6-month intervals, aligning with bi-annual performance reviews
