Role Summary: The Lead Solutions Engineer (LSE) is a key technical and strategic leader responsible for managing complex proof-of-concept (POC) projects, overseeing solution engineering delivery, and guiding staff Solutions Engineers (SEs). The LSE ensures the highest level of project execution by integrating a deep understanding of client operations, solution methodology development, and mission scheduling. This role requires strong leadership, independence, and the ability to handle complicated discussions across multiple departments and clients.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and define high-caliber system implementations, including planning, defining use cases, mission scheduling, client-specific solutions, system installation, training, and transition to Support & Operations.
• Manage and execute top-tier, strategic, and highly complex POC projects with minimal oversight, ensuring seamless internal coordination and adherence to process methodologies.
• Act as a primary technical and strategic advisor to clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of their operations and aligning solutions with business objectives.
• Develop and refine solution engineering methodologies, ensuring a structured approach to project delivery and continuous improvement.
• Oversee and mentor staff SEs, providing guidance on complex projects, problem-solving, and best practices in project execution.
• Lead risk mitigation efforts by identifying constraints, tracking progress, and ensuring projects remain within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Serve as the primary interface with internal stakeholders (Account Management, R&D, Regulations, Product, and Operations) to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
• Drive innovation and contribute to the evolution of Percepto’s product and service offerings through insights gained from high-impact projects.
• Manage the delivery capability of project management (PM) within the Solutions Engineering team, ensuring excellence in execution and client experience.
• Lead hardware solution prototyping and testing to support client needs and strategic sales opportunities.
• Support pre-sales engineering efforts by providing technical expertise and strategic input for business development.
• Write progress reports and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.

Requirements

Requirements:

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution engineering, project management, or a related technology field, with a track record of managing complex, high-stakes projects.
• PMP certification is preferred or expected to be obtained upon hiring.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to independently manage complicated discussions and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience guiding and mentoring junior SEs, fostering professional growth, and ensuring high-quality project execution.
• Proven ability to develop and implement structured solution methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.
• Willing to travel up to 40% of the time to North and South America.
• Ability to work flexible, non-routine hours as needed.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach in a dynamic and ambitious work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• FAA Part 107 Pilot License.
• Experience with drone application development.
• Hands-on hardware-related technical skills (assembly, repair, etc.).
• Spanish language proficiency is an advantage.
