As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by optimizing and enhancing our cloud infrastructure and applications. As a part of the Consumer and Community Banking Financial Operations, your role will encompass identifying and rectifying inefficiencies within the public cloud environment, employing Financial Operations best practices and a diverse set of technical and interpersonal skills to devise and implement solutions. You will take the lead and actively participate in the design and architecture of these solutions. Our Financial Operations team is dedicated to refining infrastructure for enhanced performance and cost-effectiveness, offering support to multiple teams across the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance AWS resource management within the CCB environment, improving technical and financial performance.
- Identify waste and inefficiency in public cloud services and develop optimization strategies.
- Work with tools and infrastructure that automate routine optimization tasks using agile methodologies.
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to deliver FinOps outcomes.
- Create secure, high-quality production code for infrastructure deployment.
- Produce actionable intelligence and design artifacts for complex applications.
- Gather, analyze, and develop visualizations and reporting from diverse data sets for continuous improvement.
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore new technologies.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience or desire to focus on FinOps practices in a large public cloud environment.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment with modern programming languages (e.g., Python) and database querying languages.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Public Cloud services in Production (AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end or back-end technologies.
- Experience with FinOps foundation best practices for cost optimization.
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
- Experience with Tableau and Alteryx
