The Card Authorization team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the team with hands on expertise of Java & AWS . As a Lead Software Engineer, you will design and deliver market-leading technology products in a secure and scalable way as a seasoned member of an agile team member. You will be building application using Java, AWS, write code, configure and upgraded solutions in accordance with architectural roadmap and technical specifications. Some of your responsibilities will include analysis, design, code, debug, test and modify software while considering software abilities, create strategic technical designs for mid - large scope projects with the team, and provide high level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve software problems. You will be responsible to collaborate with stakeholders on functionality and complexity of features, debug complicated issues and work on performance enhancements. As an experienced member of our Software Engineering Group, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Build Micro services that will run on the bank's internal cloud and the public cloud platform (AWS)
- Collaborate with teams in multiple regions and time zones
- Mentoring and guiding young talents in team on the CCB software engineering practices
- Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team
- Collaborate with product team and help in formulating the future roadmap
- Creates functional and technical documentation supporting best practices
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Overall 15-20 years of professional hands-on software development work experience on Java and related technologies
- 15-20 years of hands on experience of the technologies like Java 11/17, Spring/Spring Boot, Kafka, Relational/Non-Relational Databases like (Oracle, Cassandra, Dynamo, Postgres)
- Minimum 3 years of hands on experience on Pubic Cloud platform using AWS for building secure Micro Services
- Hands on experience on the AWS services like EKS, Fargate, SQS/SNS/Eventbridge, Lamda, S3, EBS, Dynamo/Aurora Postgres DB to name few
- Hands on experience of Terraform scripts
- Experience with DevOps concepts for automated build and deployment
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- AWS Developer/Solution Architect Certification
- Experience in Modernization/transformation/greenified projects
- Understanding of Design Patterns for building Micro Services and Database designs
- Knowledge of tools like Jenkins, JMeter, Dynatrace, Splunk, Spinnaker, Wiremock, Hoverfly
- Prior experience of leading a team is an added advantage
